#1. Caramelized Onions

Onions are naturally sweet. Slowly cook the onions for an extended period which will caramelize the natural sugars present in them.

Ingredients:

  • Sweet onions - 5
  • Unsalted butter - 4 tbsp
  • Chicken bouillon granules (or powder) - 2 tbsp
  • Salt and pepper - to taste

Instructions:

  • Peel the sweet onions, cut them into wedges and place them on a heavy-duty foil.
  • Dab each wedge with butter and season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle bouillon granules on top.
  • Fold the foil into a packet and leave a small hole at the top for the steam to escape.
  • Place the packet on a grill and cook for an hour or until the onions are brown and soft. Flip the wedges in between to prevent burning.
